At the end of April, a large-scale and bright spring sports festival took place at NGU“Inter Games-NGU”. The event is part of an annual traditional“Internedel”— an international youth festival, which this year celebrated its 60th anniversary. Around 2000 participants gathered at the stadium and sports complex on this day — students of NGU and 10 other universities of Novosibirsk, students of SUNTS and VKI, residents of Akademgorodok and other city districts.
“Inter Games” were conceived and are conducted by the Department of Physical Education with the assistance of the Youth Policy Department of NGU, starting from 2018. The main idea is to unite students from various faculties, institutes, and universities through sports competitions. The Games flourish and are excellently implemented, gathering more and more enthusiasts of a healthy and active lifestyle.
The celebration began with the opening ceremony — featuring showcase performances by teams in sports aerobics, sambo, judo, and Greco-Roman wrestling. The bronze medalist of the Olympic Games in fencing, Lyubov Shutova, delivered the welcoming speech. A colorful moment was also the performances and a dance flash mob by the teams of faculties and institutes — participants in the inter-aerobics competition!
Further, participants competed in 25 different individual contests, alongside competitions in aerobics, football, and basketball. All contests and competitions were bright and memorable, the most popular being “Volleyball” with a huge inflatable ball, “Caterpillar,” “Jeans on Three,” “Darts,” “Artist,” and many others — each involving 500-600 participants. The most active participants were rewarded with commemorative gifts; in total, more than 400 people who passed at least 17 different contests received prizes.
