The Chamber Choir of SPbPU became the winner of the IX All-Russian Choral Music Competition “Yekaterinburg Spring-2026” in the category “Mixed Choirs” and received the title of laureate of the gold level.

From April 30 to May 4, the IX All-Russian Chamber Music Competition “Yekaterinburg Spring-2026” was held in the capital of the Urals. The grand chamber music competition, which takes place every two years in Yekaterinburg, brought together about two thousand participants from the Republic of Crimea, Perm Krai, Sverdlovsk Region, Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Moscow, and Saint Petersburg. In a solid representation of chamber groups from the Northern capital, the most significant place was taken by the Chamber Choir of the St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University named after Peter the Great. The musicians demonstrated their skill in the best concert hall of Yekaterinburg — in the Sverdlovsk Music College named afterP. I. Tchaikovsky and on the stage of the Sverdlovsk Philharmonic.

The chamber choir of students and graduates of SPbPU under the direction of Alexandra Makarova brilliantly performed competition pieces: vocal mastery, originality of the repertoire, and serious preparation for the competition brought the choirs the title of laureate of the gold level and the status of winner in the category “Mixed choirs”.

“Another creative victory has been won, confirming the high level of mastery of the Politeca teams!— noted the head of the Directorate of Cultural Programs and Youth Creativity of SPbPU Boris Kondin. —I consider this result as the outcome of the hard work of the guys during this academic year, and I am proud that the gold medal is once again with our university!

Politicians received an invitation to participate in a friendly concert for residents and guests of Yekaterinburg in the large concert hall of the Makletsov Music School named after P. I. Tchaikovsky and at a gala concert at the Sverdlovsk State Academic Philharmonic. The Directorate of Cultural Programs and Youth Creativity of SPbPU gifted the winners an excursion “In the footsteps of the royal family: from the Church on the Blood to Ganina Yama” and to the symbolic border between Europe and Asia.
