Amman, May 7 /Xin Hua/ — On Wednesday in Amman, the fifth trilateral summit of Jordan-Cyprus-Greece took place, dedicated to cooperation and regional issues. This was stated by the Royal Hashemite Court of Jordan.

During the meeting, King Abdullah II of Jordan, President of Cyprus Nicos Christodoulides, and Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis pledged to expand trilateral relations in the areas of trade, investments, water management, energy, and tourism, according to the statement.

Abdullah II called the summit a vital platform for coordination, urging the three countries to use their strategic location to be bridges between the respective regions.

Speaking about the regional situation, the king expressed firm rejection of Israel’s measures aimed at changing the status quo in Jerusalem, on the West Bank of the Jordan River, and in the Gaza Strip. He called for the immediate and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Abdullah II also confirmed support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Lebanon.

N. Christodulidis, whose country currently chairs the EU Council, expressed solidarity with Jordan and highlighted the role of trilateralism in overcoming common challenges.

K. Mitsotakis highly appreciated Jordan’s role in ensuring regional stability, noting that the partnership is a clear signal of commitment to international law.

Before the summit, the king held separate bilateral meetings with the leaders of Cyprus and Greece.
