On the eve of the 81st Victory Anniversary in the Great Patriotic War, employees of the Volgograd Scientific Institute “Rosneft” participated in the greening of the territory of the historical and memorial museum-reserve “The Battle of Stalingrad.” The institute’s employees prepared the site and planted pine seedlings on the legendary slope of the main height of Russia.
Mamaev Kurgan and the memorial complex “To the Heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad” is a chronicle of the indomitable courage and resilience of the Soviet people during one of the most fateful periods of the Great Patriotic War. Unconquered Stalingrad is known worldwide as a legendary city, and its main height wounds the memory of thousands of fallen heroes. Each tree planted here is a symbol of the deepest respect and remembrance for generations.
Volunteers of the institute revived the tradition and annually participate in the improvement and greening of the territory of the memorial complex; in total, more than 350 seedlings of coniferous and deciduous trees and shrubs were planted on Mamayev Kurgan. Today, the green plantings form the natural framework of the memorial, emphasizing its grandeur and solemnity.
For every participant of this event, it is a great honor to make a personal contribution to the improvement of a truly sacred place and to pay tribute to the immortal feat of the fallen Heroes. We remember! We are proud!
