Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandr Novak held a meeting dedicated to the economic situation, with the participation of the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Maksim Oreshkin, representatives of the Federation Council, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Labor, the Bank of Russia, and the expert community.

Within the framework of the meeting, the Ministry of Economic Development presented the main macroeconomic indicators in the segment of consumer activity and retail trade, the labor market, the dynamics of nominal and real wages. Data on mortgage lending, key characteristics of the federal budget, and its revenue dynamics were presented separately.

We have examined the situation with inflation and its main components, including food and non-food products, as well as the service sector.

Within the framework of the industry overview, participants discussed the situation in industry and manufacturing, construction, freight transport turnover, and agriculture. In the section on foreign economic activity, price trends in the global markets were examined: information was presented on the prices of energy carriers, fertilizers, ferrous and non-ferrous metals as of early May 2026.

Alexander Novak emphasized the importance of constant monitoring of key macroeconomic and sectoral indicators for making timely and operational decisions. The Deputy Prime Minister also instructed the Ministry of Labor to prepare a deeper analysis of the labor market situation, taking into account the special significance of this sphere for structural changes in the economy.
