Washington, May 5 /Xinhua/ — US President Donald Trump on Tuesday refused to specify what actions would be considered a violation of the ceasefire regime with Iran, again stating that Tehran is ready to conclude a peace agreement with Washington.
Answering journalists’ question in the Oval Office about what actions Tehran might take to cross the red line of the ceasefire, D. Trump said nothing specific.
“You will find out, because I will let you know,” said D. Trump, adding that Iran “is looking for small boats to try to compete with our great fleet.”
“They /the Iranian leaders/ know what to do. And, even more importantly, they know what not to do,” noted the American president.
“Iran wants to make a deal,” repeated D. Trump.
He also expressed confidence that “no one will call the blockade established by the US Navy a challenge,” shortly after the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Keane, told reporters at the Pentagon that Iran had attacked American forces “more than 10 times” since the ceasefire regime was introduced last month.
