China Sent Humanitarian Aid to Lebanon

Beirut, May 4 /Xin Hua/ — On Monday, China handed over to the government of Lebanon two batches of humanitarian aid for the population affected by the ongoing conflict.

The cargo included emergency food supplies, tents, blankets, and personal hygiene items.

As stated at the aid handover ceremony by the Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon Chen Chuandun, the emergency assistance provided by the Chinese government is intended to help alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Lebanon.

The Chinese diplomat noted that this humanitarian cargo is a testament to the longstanding friendship between the two countries. According to him, China firmly supports Lebanon in protecting sovereignty, security, stability, and unity, and will continue to assist this country to the extent of its capabilities.

Attending the ceremony, the Secretary-General of the Lebanese High Commission for Aid, Bassam Nabulsi, and the Minister of Social Affairs of Lebanon, Hanin al-Said, expressed sincere gratitude for the support provided, emphasizing that timely assistance once again proves that China remains a reliable friend of Lebanon.
