Almaty, May 2 /Xinhua/ — Rescuers evacuated people in the Tolebi district of the Turkestan region of Kazakhstan after the water level rose in the Akmeshit river. This was reported on Friday in the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the country.
As stated by the agency, in the Tolebiysky district, due to heavy rains, the water level in the Akmeshit River rose. As a result, two temporary homemade bridges connecting the recreation area and the picnic area were washed away, and a ford in the Ekpindi district was also damaged. From the village of Ekpindi, 11 people, including seven children, were relocated to a safe place. From the recreation area, 70 people, including 20 children, were evacuated.
A specialist was involved in organizing the temporary crossing point. “No citizens required medical assistance. There are no injured,” the Ministry of Emergency Situations informed.
