Havana, May 1 /Xinhua/ — Cuba on Friday condemned the new US sanctions, calling them “unilateral coercive measures.”
“We strongly condemn the new unilateral coercive measures taken by the US government,” wrote Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodríguez on the social media platform X.
According to him, these actions demonstrate the intention to apply collective punishment to the Cuban people.
“These measures are extraterritorial in nature and violate the UN Charter,” said B. Rodriguez, adding that the United States has no right to impose sanctions against Cuba, third countries, or entities.
Former U.S. President Donald Trump signed a decree introducing new sanctions against Cuba.
