Kyiv, April 30 /Sin Syu/ — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed on Thursday bills that extend martial law and general mobilization in the country until August 2 of this year. This is reported on the official website of the Verkhovna Rada /parliament/ of Ukraine.

The duration of the legal regime had to expire on May 4, but due to the ongoing armed conflict with the Russian Federation, V. Zelensky on April 27 proposed to parliament to extend it for another 90 days. The next day, the deputies supported both initiatives of the head of state.

Martial law and general mobilization were introduced in Ukraine on February 24, 2022. The Verkhovna Rada has extended it 19 times already.
