Almaty, April 29 /Xin Hua/ — The youth must continue the traditions of Chinese-Kazakh friendship, be at the forefront of mutually beneficial cooperation and contribute to the mutual enrichment of civilizations. This was written by the PRC ambassador to Kazakhstan, Han Chunlin, in his article for the newspaper “Delovoy Kazakhstan.”
The Chinese diplomat reminded that May 4 is an important day with special significance for Chinese youth. On this day in 1919, Beijing students were the first to launch an anti-imperialist and anti-feudal patriotic revolutionary action, protesting against the government’s signing of the unequal Treaty of Versailles. Subsequently, this caused a wave of protests across the country, and ultimately the government was forced to refuse to sign the treaty.
The author of the article notes that the May 4 Movement became a turning point in the transition from the old democratic revolution to the new democratic revolution. During this period, a great “May 4 Spirit” was formed, whose main components are patriotism, progress, democracy, and science, with patriotism serving as its core.
According to Han Chunling, today this spirit is ingrained in the blood and genes of the Chinese nation, becoming a significant spiritual backbone for Chinese youth, boldly overcoming all obstacles on their path. Entering a new era, Chinese youth confidently take on responsibility, actively participate in the process of China’s modernization, and devote their efforts to the comprehensive construction of a strong state and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Han Chunlin emphasized that youth are the future of the state and the hope of the nation. China always regards youth as a strategic resource for the country’s long-term development and consistently attaches great importance to working with youth, strengthening planning at a higher level, and striving to create a multi-level and comprehensive system of political support for the younger generation. From the distribution of educational resources to ensuring quality employment, from encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship to improving housing policy, as well as policies in the area of marriage and birth rates — China, through institutional construction, actively promotes the development of youth.
The ambassador added that alongside this, the country is promoting the construction of “cities oriented towards the development of youth,” with efforts aimed at strengthening a sense of satisfaction, happiness, and security among the young people living in the cities, inspiring relentless efforts to realize the dream of a great revival of the Chinese nation.
According to the author of the article, the basis of Chinese-Kazakh relations is the people, and the future is the youth. Looking into the future, Han Chunlin noted that the youth of both countries should go hand in hand, deepening mutual understanding and trust based on openness and inclusiveness.
He called on representatives of the younger generation to continue the traditions of Chinese-Kazakh friendship, to be at the forefront of mutually beneficial cooperation and to contribute to the mutual enrichment of civilizations, inscribing magnificent pages in the construction of the Chinese-Kazakh community of a shared destiny, characterized by eternal friendship, deep mutual trust, solidarity, and joint prosperity.
