Department of Sports of the city of Moscowcreates indispensable conditions for participants of the special military operation (SMO) for systematic physical culture and sports activities, and also provides them with various benefits.

So, when presenting a veteran of combat actions’ ID at a sports facility of Moscomsport, physical culture and health improvement services can be received without waiting in line. Detailed information about sections and physical culture events on the city’s territory is posted on the official portal“Moskovsky Sport”.

In addition, institutions of Moscomsport, which provide physical fitness and sports services, organize free classes for city residents of all ages and social groups. Participants of the special military operation are enrolled in such sections as a priority. Registration is done on the official portal “Moscow Sport” in the section“Enrollment in free sports sections of Moscomsport”.

Participants of the SVR also have priority when registering for mass sporting events. Together with Moscomsport, in cooperation with the “Running Community,” it provides SVR fighters and combat veterans the opportunity to participate free of charge in track and field runs, provided that the appropriate supporting documents are submitted.

SVO veterans can engage in professional sports. Currently, they undergo sports training in six institutions subordinate to Moscomsport in nine sports for people with disabilities: sitting volleyball, arm wrestling, road cycling, wheelchair fencing, archery, powerlifting, sledge hockey, shooting, and tandem cycling. Game disciplines (sitting volleyball and sledge hockey), cycling, and shooting are especially popular among SVO veterans.

Every year, teams from the city of Moscow, including veterans of the SVO, show high results in official Moscow and all-Russian competitions in various disciplines — for example, in the “Defenders of the Fatherland Cup.”

Information about the opportunities for SVO participants to engage in sports and physical culture can be found on the Moscomsport page in the section“Invasport”, as well as on the official websites of Moscomsport institutions.
