Under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, a meeting was held on issues of readiness for the summer wellness campaign, conducting the GIA, and about the construction of educational facilities in 2026.

Last year, declared by the Ministry of Education as the Year of Children’s Recreation in the education system, they developed and implemented a federal program of educational work, which became mandatory for all camps in the country, ensured informational transparency of camps for parents, and actively promoted inclusive practices.
The Deputy Prime Minister added that, with the support of the deputy corps and personally of the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, work continues to increase the number of country camps. Efforts are underway to prevent the repurposing of country camps, which Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko has repeatedly drawn attention to.
This summer, camps of all types must operate. Another key task is to maximize the rest time organized for the children of the participants of the special military operation, children from border territories, reunited regions, as well as children who found themselves in emergency zones – Chechnya and Dagestan. We keep the situation in these republics under constant control. More than 228 thousand children of participants in the special military operation and almost 50 thousand children from the reunited subjects will rest in children’s camps.A decision has been made to allocate additional funds from the federal budget for the recreation of more than 16 thousand children from the Belgorod region,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
At the meeting, Dmitry Chernyshenko thanked the heads of regions for their participation in the project “Region Day at Artek. My Multifaceted Russia” last year, and also recommended continuing the practice of regional presentations and personally taking part in 2026.
The Deputy Prime Minister announced that, by the directive of the head of state, the main period of the State Final Certification will begin on June 1 for the first time. More than 700,000 participants have already registered for the Unified State Exam (USE), and more than 1.5 million for the Basic State Exam (BSE). Since 2024, there is a trend of an increasing number of students choosing subjects from the natural science cycle for the USE.
Under the national project “Youth and Children,” large-scale work is underway in the area of construction and major renovation of educational facilities. By 2026, the commissioning of 68 schools for more than 58 thousand places, 1 kindergarten, major renovation of 1108 schools, 353 kindergartens, and 267 college buildings is planned.
Dmitry Chernyshenko asked the governors of the regions to keep under personal control the issue of deadlines for the introduction of infrastructure facilities, ensuring priority accessibility of recreation for children in difficult life situations and children of participants in the special military operation (SVO), the creation of an inclusive environment for children with limited health capabilities. He also called on the regional heads to pay attention to the safety of recreation, systematic informing of parents and children, ensuring that camps are staffed with personnel trained according to unified standards of preparation and educational work.
The head of the Ministry of Education Sergey Kravtsov drew attention to the fact that the department is actively working on standardizing the requirements for training counselors. Also, the meeting discussed the preparation for the state final certification.
“The exam schedule is synchronized with the end of the academic year, which will allow graduates and schools to complete the academic year as planned. Additional days for retaking the Unified State Exam (USE) in one of the subjects taken in 2026 are July 8 and 9. I note that we continue to work on improving the quality of mathematical and natural science education. According to the Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science (Rosobrnadzor), in 2026, 36.49% of graduates have chosen these subjects for passing the USE,” the Minister of Education drew attention.
Sergey Kravtsov also focused on the issue of construction and repair of educational institutions.
The preparation for the state final certification under the educational programs of basic general and secondary general education in 2026 was reported at the meeting by the head of Rosobrnadzor, Anzor Muzaev. The early period of the USE, which took place in 68 subjects of the Russian Federation, ended on April 20. The exams proceeded in a regular mode, without disruptions.
“There is still a month before the main period. All the necessary preparatory work has been carried out on our side. About 6 thousand points for conducting the USE (Unified State Exam), over 300 thousand USE workers will be involved in the main period. This is a large-scale event, so participation of all regions and examination points in the preparatory activities is very important. Throughout the year, we have conducted numerous trainings on the technology of the USE both at the federal and regional levels,” noted Anzor Muzaev.
