In the creative residence “Youth of Moscow. “Rodina” is opening a film club. The first meeting will take place on May 6 at the address: Izmailovsky Val Street, house 5. Participants, together with a film expert, will discuss the topic of the emergence of domestic cinema and watch the first black-and-white films. Everyone aged 14 to 35 who wishes can join the meeting. Registration is open on the portal“Youth of Moscow”.
“We are glad to open a film club in our space. This is a new place for those who want not only to watch films but also to deeply understand them. We are waiting for everyone who shares a love for art and strives to learn more about the history of cinema,” said Margarita Savinkina, head of the “Youth of Moscow” project.
The film club “Youth of Moscow” will unite fans and experts of the film industry, as well as create a platform for discussions and the generation of ideas for new projects. The events are aimed at preserving cultural heritage and broadening the horizons of youth. Meetings will be held at the creative residence “Youth of Moscow. Homeland.”
At the first event, the lecturer will talk about the stage of the emergence and establishment of cinema, as well as analyze the influence of the very earliest black-and-white films in Russia on the development of culture and society, and will introduce listeners to the basics of dramaturgy. Participants will see such films as “Battleship Potemkin,” “A Trip to the Moon,” “Stenka Razin,” and “The Man with the Movie Camera.”
Eight modern rooms have been equipped in the creative residence “Youth of Moscow. Motherland.” These are multifunctional and dance halls, a sound recording studio, an art workshop, an exhibition space, a design workshop, a youth lounge, and a multipurpose hall. These can be used by city residents aged 14 to 35. Each room can be booked for free on the portal“Moscow Youth”. The site operates daily from 10:00 to 20:00.
