Khiva /Uzbekistan/, April 27 /Xinhua/ — The 3rd International Festival of Lazgi Dance is currently being held in the city of Khiva, Uzbekistan.
The festival includes more than 300 dancers, professional dance groups, masters of choreographic art, musicologists, art historians, cultural figures, and experts from more than 30 countries, including Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Brazil, Japan.
An international dance competition is also held as part of the event.
“We consider it a great honor to participate in the festival. We came here to share our art and love of dance. We are also very happy to establish new friendly connections and acquaintances in this very beautiful city,” said Wu Shuai, mentor of the Chinese ensemble Beijing Dance Academy, who participated in the dance competition.
The Khorezm dance Lazgi is recognized by UNESCO as an element of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity. The 3rd International Lazgi Dance Festival will continue until April 30. –0–
