The jubilee, fifth Russian winemaking forum will take place on November 18–19 in Moscow. The forum will become a key industry platform for discussing priorities in the development of viticulture and winemaking, as well as issues of market regulation and international cooperation.
“Winemaking is not only a traditional direction of the agro-industrial complex, but also a driver of domestic tourism development. More than five years have passed since the adoption of the law “On Viticulture and Winemaking in the Russian Federation.” During this time, the quality of wine production in our country has changed significantly, the level of professionalism in the industry has increased, rules have been formed that correspond to global standards. As a result, an excellent product has appeared, which consumers are willing to choose.All this positively affects the production indicators: the planting rates of vineyards in our country are among the highest in the world. Wine production is increasing. To support such dynamics, the Government annually allocates significant funds to support the industry.I am confident that the jubilee, the fifth Russian winemaking forum, will become an important platform for dialogue between the government, business, and science, so that Russian winemaking continues to strengthen its positions,” noted Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the organizational committee for the preparation and holding of the Russian Winemaking Forum Dmitry Patrushev.
The Russian winemaking forum is held regularly and has established itself as the final industry platform of the year, ensuring the continuity of professional discussions and the decisions made.
“Our task–Create a rapid response mechanism: every winemaker’s proposal, every regional request, and every regulatory change must receive an operational response. Thanks to a record grape harvest and an 11.5% production growth in 2025, the share of Russian wines in the market approached 63%, and sales of domestic products continue to grow. In 2026, it is especially important to strengthen international cooperation with BRICS countries, support small and medium-sized winemakers, and ensure the industry’s sustainability amid new regulatory challenges.The forum for us is a “working table” where we synchronize production capabilities, infrastructure, science, and state support tools,” noted Anton Kobyakov, advisor to the President of Russia and responsible secretary of the forum organizing committee.
One of the confirmations of the applied nature of the forum was the legislative consolidation of the decision on the construction of objects in vineyards – an initiative that was consistently discussed at the event venue and received the support of the professional community.
In 2026, in the center of the forum’s business program, there will be issues of international cooperation, including the development of interaction with the BRICS countries. Participants will discuss the prospects of the member countries’ wine markets, as well as the launch and development of educational programs aimed at training specialists and exchanging industry expertise.
The business program will unite representatives of specialized government bodies, winemakers and grape growers, distributors, purchasers from retail chains and the restaurant business, experts, and media representatives.
The organizers of the forum are the Roscongress Foundation and the Federal Self-Regulatory Organization of Winemakers and Winegrowers of Russia. The co-organizer of the forum is Rosselkhozbank. The strategic scientific partner is the National Research Center “Kurchatov Institute”.
