Tehran, April 25 /Xinhua/ — The Central Headquarters of the Armed Forces of Iran “Khatam al-Anbiya” on Saturday promised to take retaliatory measures if the United States continues its “blockade, banditry, and piracy” in the region of West Asia.

The corresponding statement was made in a published Iranian media statement in connection with the US-imposed naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, which prevents the passage of ships heading to and from Iranian ports, as well as in connection with actions against ships heading to Iran in recent days.

The statement contains calls for the United States to realize that the armed forces of Iran have become more powerful and prepared than before, to protect the national sovereignty, interests, and territorial integrity of the country. It also notes that the U.S. army felt part of Iran’s power and offensive capabilities during the recent war.

The department emphasized that the Iranian armed forces are ready and fully determined, monitoring the “behavior and movement of enemies” in the region and continuing to control the Hormuz Strait, to inflict even more serious damage on the “enemies” — the USA and Israel, if they repeat their “aggression.”

Also on Saturday, the Saudi Arabian news agency Al Arabiya News, citing a source, reported that Iran will not agree to negotiations proposing red lines established by the United States. –0–
