Islamabad, April 24 /Sina/ — It is expected that the Iranian delegation headed by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will arrive in Islamabad to discuss with Pakistani mediators key preliminary conditions before the possible start of negotiations with the USA. This was reported on Friday by a correspondent of Sina, a Pakistani official source.
An official, wishing to remain anonymous, stated that the Iranian side will hold consultations with an intermediary group from Pakistan to discuss the conditions for starting official negotiations with Washington.
According to the official, the main focus in the discussion mode will be on issues such as lifting the blockade and freeing the detained ships and crews.
As the source emphasized, Tehran is seeking to achieve an initial strengthening of trust from the United States before moving on to direct interaction.
“Pakistan maintains ongoing contacts both with Iran and with the United States as part of its mediation efforts,” he noted, adding that depending on the progress in preliminary discussions, the Iranian side may proceed to direct negotiations with US representatives. –0–
