Kyiv, April 25 /SinyUA/ — The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development /EBRD/ plans to attract about 500 million euros by the end of 2027 for the repair of the new safe confinement /NSC/ on the 4th power unit of the Chernobyl NPP. This was reported on Friday by the president of the EBRD, Odile Renaud-Basso, as conveyed by the agency “Interfax-Ukraine”.
She added that repair works should be carried out in 2028-2030. Otherwise, there are risks of corrosion occurring, which will fundamentally damage the NBK structure.
At the same time, O. Reno-Basso added that EBR already has sufficient funding for short-term repairs aimed at stabilizing the situation. –0–
