Beijing, April 23 /Xinhua/ — A member of the National People’s Congress, Minister of Public Security Wan Xiaojun held a meeting on Thursday in Beijing with the Director General of the UK’s National Crime Agency, Graeme Biggar.
Van Syao Kun stated that China is ready, together with the United Kingdom, under the strategic leadership of the leaders of both countries, to deepen practical cooperation in such areas as combating financial and economic crimes, telecommunications and online fraud, illegal migration, and drugs.
Both parties must activate coordination of actions within the framework of a multilateral structure, including the UN and Interpol, strengthen cooperation in enhancing legal protection capacity and exchange of experience, continuously facilitating the deepening development of bilateral legal cooperation and jointly protecting the well-being of the peoples of both countries, stressed Van Syao Sun.
Mr. Biggar, in turn, expressed the United Kingdom’s readiness to maintain close communication with China and to raise the level of bilateral cooperation in the field of law enforcement activities. –0–
