PJSC “KAMAZ” participated in the conference “LPG fuel in freight transport. Opportunities. Efficiency. Prospects,” organized by PJSC “NOVATEK,” the largest independent natural gas producer in Russia. At the event held on April 23 in Moscow, the KAMAZ-54901 tractor unit running on LPG was presented.
Key players in the gas motor fuel market participated in the work: representatives of PJSC “NOVATEK”, a technical partner of the event – PJSC “KAMAZ”, leading partners of both companies, official dealers and suppliers of equipment for liquefied natural gas. Active and potential clients interested in transitioning to environmentally and economically efficient solutions for trunk transportation also joined the discussion.
Representatives of PJSC “NOVATEK” gave presentations in which they detailed the economic and technical potential of liquefied natural gas. Experts explained the nature of LNG, described the entire supply chain to CryoANZ, and the design of the cryobox, emphasizing significant fuel savings for carriers. Separate sections of the program were dedicated to operational safety and the key differences of LNG from other types of fuel, as well as the development of the CryoANZ project and network.
In turnDirector for Gas Engine Technology of PJSC “KAMAZ” Evgeny ProninPresented the flagship KAMAZ-54901 of the K5 generation at the CNG. The speaker talked about the operation of the test fleet of gas-powered KAMAZ tractors, which allows companies to effectively assess the performance of the machines in real conditions before purchasing, and also highlighted the wide sales geography and the readiness of the service network of the automotive giant to service CNG vehicles across the country. Today, more than 2,100 KAMAZ tractors running on CNG are already on the roads of Russia.
Special attention was given to issues of organizing cooperation on the use of KAMAZ-54901 gas-powered tractors based on the integrated supply system. This format provides not only the supply of equipment to the client, but also a service contract from “KAMAZ”, a fuel contract from “NOVATEK”, comfortable leasing instruments, as well as access to government support programs and subsidies, thanks to which the total cost of ownership (TCO) of gas-powered equipment becomes more attractive compared to diesel analogs. All this together allows minimizing the carriers’ costs.
“Natural gas is a real and full-fledged alternative to diesel fuel. Over the past decade, basic conditions for the widespread use of gas engine fuel in transport have been gradually created in the country. Thus, effective state management of market development is carried out, including various forms of stimulation. Technical parameters of gas engine technology have been brought to the diesel level, serial production of a wide range of models of cars and buses running on methane has been organized, and the refueling network is dynamically developing., – emphasizedEvgeny Pronin. –In particular, KAMAZ has organized full-scale mass production of gas engine technology, designed for the production of eight thousand cars and two thousand buses per year. KAMAZ gas-engine tractors running on CNG and the wide network of CryoGas of PJSC NOVATEK bring cargo transportation to a new high level of efficiency.
Also at the conference were representatives of the transport and logistics company NATCAR, a subsidiary of the auto giant, who shared their experience of operating a large fleet of KAMAZ trucks running on CNG. In turn, specialists from LLC “AvtoZapchast KAMAZ” dwelled in detail on the issue of service maintenance for KAMAZ gas engines, presenting a strategy for ensuring a consistently high technical readiness coefficient (TRC).
The speakers who took part in the business program answered audience questions. In addition, guests were given the opportunity to familiarize themselves with samples of gas engine technology presented at the outdoor exhibition. Visitors showed particular interest in the KAMAZ-54901 LPG tractor unit, which combines a modern level of comfort and advanced technologies.
