Washington, April 24 /Xinhua/ — US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he is not in a hurry to end the war with Iran, noting that American citizens will have to spend “some more time” paying higher prices for gasoline.

“I do not want to rush events,” said D. Trump to journalists at the White House, adding that US citizens should be prepared for rising prices, as a result they are getting “Iran without nuclear weapons.”

“I am probably the least pressured person ever to hold this office. I have all the time in the world, but Iran does not. The clock is ticking!” — wrote D. Trump on Thursday on the Truth Social social network.

According to him, any peaceful agreement with Iran will be concluded on the condition of the US and in accordance with the schedule. “The deal will be made only if it is advisable and beneficial for the US, our allies, and, essentially, the rest of the world,” he wrote.

D. Trump said on Wednesday that there is “no time frame” for ending the war and “no time pressure” regarding the extension of the ceasefire regime that was prolonged on Tuesday and the deadlock in the negotiations.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Wednesday that Tehran has no “clear deadline” for presenting a proposal on a peace agreement with Washington. –0–
