Kyiv, April 22 /Xin Hua/ — Ukraine will likely resume oil pumping through the Druzhba pipeline on Wednesday, April 22, at 12:00, Ukrinform agency reported.

According to available data, the Hungarian oil company MOL has submitted the first transit application. The oil will be distributed in equal proportions to Hungary and Slovakia.

The Ukrinform agency’s message says that earlier in the day Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the country has completed repair work on the section of the Dashvda pipeline. He also expressed hope that this would allow unlocking the European aid package to Ukraine amounting to 90 billion euros.

The Druzhba oil pipeline is a major pipeline system through which Russia supplies oil to Central and Eastern Europe. After the start of the Russian-Ukrainian armed conflict, the EU introduced a partial embargo on the import of fossil fuels from the Russian Federation, however, the restrictions do not apply to supplies via the Druzhba oil pipeline. –0–
