Chairman of the Government Mikhail Mishustin signed an order establishing the quota for admission to targeted training in universities at the expense of the federal budget for 2026.

A total of more than 83 thousand places have been allocated for targeted training, of which more than a third are in healthcare, about 20 thousand in the field of engineering and technology, approximately 13.5 thousand in education and pedagogy, and more than 9 thousand in agriculture. The quota has been formulated based on applications from enterprises and organizations.

For the first time, the target quota is fully detailed by form of study (full-time, part-time with on-campus classes, distance learning) and all levels of higher education, specifying the exact number of places by specialties and fields of training. The number of target places is also detailed by employers who have declared a need for specific specialists, educational organizations where the target students will be trained, and regions in whose territory they will work after completing their education.

Speaking about the decision made onGovernment meeting on April 21, Mikhail Mishustin emphasized that professional training of specialists is one of the most important tasks, to the fulfillment of which great attention is paid. The head of the Cabinet also noted that the new detailed procedure for establishing quotas will fully take into account the staffing needs of the regions, guarantee a graduate a job in their field, and attract trained and interested specialists to companies.
