Tehran, April 19 /Xinhua/ – The Iran Civil Aviation Organization (CAO) announced on Sunday that it has approved the resumption of international flights from the airport of the city of Mashhad in the northeastern province of Khorasan Razavi starting April 20.
The statement published on the official website of OGAI says that the decision was made after the earlier announcement about the resumption of international flights in the airspace of the eastern part of Iran. It is noted that some airports resumed operations on April 18 at 07:00 local time / 03:30 GMT.
The department added that permission to sell tickets for domestic flights has not yet been issued.
Iran has closed its airspace and suspended all civilian air transportation in the country following the joint military strikes by the US and Israel that began on February 28.
At OGAM, it was reported that air service to the Iranian airport will gradually return to normal mode as soon as the military and civilian authorities complete technical and operational preparations.
