A direct two-axle freight train has been launched from Yiwu, China, to Moscow

Hanchzhou, April 19 /Xinhua/ — On Friday, in Zhejiang Province /East China/, the official launch of a direct double-deck freight train route from Yiwu to Moscow took place, with the travel time expected to be 15 days.

Train number X8074, loaded with 110 standard containers containing goods such as everyday consumer products, departed from the West Station of the city of Yiwu, Zhejiang Province. It will cross the state border through the Manzhouli checkpoint in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (Northern China) and head directly to the Beliy Rast railway station in Moscow.

This route was organized jointly by China Railway Container Transport and Yiwu Tianmeng Industrial Investment Co., Ltd to create a new model of train operation characterized by the interconnection of bilateral nodes and highly efficient coordination between China and foreign countries.

In recent years in the province of Zhejiang, transportation along the international railway route China-Europe has been continuously improved: an international logistics network has gradually taken shape, covering more than 160 cities in over 50 countries.In the future, local characteristic products such as automobiles powered by new energy sources and spare parts, mechanical equipment, metal tools, everyday consumer goods, and others will enter the Russian market more freely, and high-quality Russian goods will be able to be conveniently and quickly delivered to the remote areas of the Yangtze River Delta, which will help improve the efficiency and quality of trade between China and Russia.
