Dushanbe, April 17 /Sina/ — In Tajikistan, an attempt to smuggle a large consignment of narcotics through the state border was thwarted, two violators were eliminated, and one escaped. This was reported on Friday by the Public Relations Center of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan.
According to official data, today three citizens of Afghanistan illegally crossed the state border and entered the territory of Tajikistan.
The violators did not comply with the lawful demand of the border patrol to surrender and offered armed resistance. In the course of the clash, two of them were neutralized, one, taking advantage of the darkness, fled to the neighboring territory.
At the scene of the incident, two Kalashnikov assault rifles, a smoothbore shotgun, two magazines with 35 cartridges, as well as two bags containing 25 packages of narcotic substances, were found and seized.
