The Department of Technospheric Safety at SPbGASU continues to actively familiarize students with current issues in the field of labor protection and industrial safety. One of the key goals of such trips is to show future specialists the real trends of the industry and to strengthen the connection between academic training and the requirements of the modern labor market.
From April 8 to 10, the X International Labor Forum took place in Saint Petersburg – the largest discussion platform of Eurasia, uniting more than 10,000 participants from 79 regions of Russia and 10 foreign countries. The jubilee forum was dedicated to the main theme “World of Labor 2030–2040,” focusing on the transformation of professions under the influence of artificial intelligence, workforce shortages, and the formation of a fair and adaptive world of labor.
On April 9, the first day of the forum within the framework of the career guidance event was attended by students of the Department of Technosphere Safety under the guidance of the department assistantTatyana Zherebko.Students got acquainted with advanced developments at the “KUB EXPO” exhibition, where modern solutions for industrial safety, labor protection, and personnel management were presented, attended a plenary session, and visited a master class on working at height. Participation in such an event allows students not only to immerse themselves in a professional environment but also to assess modern requirements for occupational safety.
The second day of the forum was also eventful: lecturers from the Department of Information Security – associate professorsOlga Gorbunovaand assistant, director of the “Smart Labor” test siteAlexander DmitrievTogether with the students, they actively participated in the master class “Investigation on the spot.” The event was organized by the Institute of the Federal Labor and Employment Service of Saint Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design. Student teams from five universities of the Northern capital were mixed in a random order with experienced experts – representatives of enterprises, so that the mentors could evaluate the work of the students in the combined team and note the level of professional competencies.
Students were offered the role of members of the commission investigating the industrial accident, and the group of statisticians played the roles of witnesses and the injured party. Each hero-statistician’s interview was allocated a short time – five minutes – to obtain all the information necessary to reconstruct a complete picture of the incident.
The students actively participated in the survey of the victim and witnesses, demonstrating a competent approach to identifying the causes and circumstances of the incident. They correctly established the primary and contributing causes of the accident, showing a high level of professional competence, which was noted by the experts. As a result of the competitive part, the students of SPBGASU took an honorable second place!
Congratulations to the students and teachers on excellent results, and we wish you further success in your professional development!
