Graduate of Novosibirsk State UniversityAbout Dongonappointed as a member of the promotion and marketing section of the Civil Council for assistance in conducting the Suwon Visiting Year 2026–2027. At the ceremony for the appointment of members of the Civil Council for Assistance, held on April 2 at the Suwon Conference Center, speaking as the first initiator on the discussion platform with the mayor of Suwon cityLi Jejunom, O Dongon proposed, along with promoting Suwon abroad and attracting foreign tourists, to focus on informing and involving foreign citizens and members of multicultural families already residing in Suwon and its surroundings in tourist activities. This initiative was supported by the mayor of this city.
Suvon– the capital of Gyeonggi Province of the Republic of Korea, the largest in the province and the third largest city in the Seoul Capital Area along with Seoul and Incheon. The city is known for the Hwaseong Fortress, built in the 18th century, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Dongon specialized in the Russian language at the Department of Russian Language of Pusan University of Foreign Languages as a senior lecturer at the Center for International Educational Programs of the Humanities Institute of Irina Mironyuk. In 2014–2015, he completed an internship at the Faculty of Humanities (since 2016 – Humanities Institute of NGU) of Novosibirsk State University under the scientific supervision of the Associate Professor of the Department of Archaeology and Ethnography of the Humanities Institute.Sergei Alkin. Then he completed a master’s degree in “History” at the Far Eastern Federal University and a bachelor’s degree in the specialty “Multiculturalism and International Cooperation” at the Cyber University of Korea. Currently, he works in the department of culture and arts of the Suwon City Hall.
Professional experience in the field of culture and tourism. O Dongon gained experience working at the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Gwacheon and the Museum Activity Department of the Anyan Culture and Arts Foundation in Anyang, as well as during his work as a member of the monitoring group of the National Science Museum in Daejeon and the Museum of Korean Independence in Cheonan. In addition, O Dongon has experience in volunteer activities as a guide at the National Museum of World Writing Systems in Incheon and as a Russian-speaking guide at the Hwasun Cultural Festival in Suwon in 2025.During the work with the foreign student support specialist at Sungkyunkwan University in Asan, O Dongon was responsible for the cultural program for foreign students and introduced them to Korean culture.
