Beijing, April 16 /Xinhua/ — The volume of electricity generation by large enterprises in China’s energy sector, the annual output from the main economic activities of each of which amounts to no less than 20 million yuan (about 2.91 million USD), increased by 1.4 percent in year-on-year terms in March 2026. This is evidenced by data published on Thursday by the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS).
This group of companies produced 802.5 billion kWh of electricity last month.
At the same time, hydropower demonstrated a growth in production of 10.8%, which is 4 percentage points higher than the indicator for January-February.
In solar and thermal energy, the growth was 10 percent and 4.2 percent, respectively.
At the same time, the volumes of production of AECs and wind power plants decreased by 11.8 percent and 17.3 percent respectively, according to the data of the State Statistics Service.
In total, large enterprises of the sector produced nearly 2.38 trillion kWh in January-March, which is 3.4 percent higher than the same period last year. -0-
