During the month — from March 10 to April 10 — Career Days were held at NGU, where students could communicate with partner employers. More than 60 organizations participated in the event, among which eight represented the medical field, nine — the legal sector, and seven — research institutes of the SB RAS. 18 individual events from partners were held and five excursions to companies were organized. In total, about 3000 students attended the Career Days.

For the second year in a row, Career Days are held in the format of a “Career Game.” Students connect to the “Career Bot,” which was created by the Career Development Center (CDC) in collaboration with the Institute of Intellectual Robotics of NGU. The bot allows accumulating points and spending them on branded souvenir products, as well as sends notifications about upcoming events from companies. Thus, the bot solves two important tasks — on one hand, it encourages active student participation in Career Days; on the other hand, it motivates partner employers to create interactive tasks.

The Career Month is annually held from March to April for a reason. According toSvetlana Dovgal, the director of the Career Development Center of NSU, autumn is the time when students are just getting involved in the educational process, winter is the exam period, and spring is precisely the moment when students fully adapt to studying, and graduates begin to think about their future career after graduating from university.

Career events start at NGU in autumn, but they are “rehearsals” before the main ones, which take place in spring. March and April are ideal months for Career Days. This is when students have already passed their exams and immersed themselves in studies, but the exam weeks have not yet begun, the International Scientific Student Conference, diploma defenses for graduates,— explainedSvetlana Dovgal.

The major events of Career Days this year were two stand sessions. The first of them took place on March 26 in the laboratory building of NGU, and it was designed for students and graduates of natural science fields. The second stand session was organized on April 2 in the new building of current NGU auditoriums. It was aimed at students and graduates of all university fields and gathered more than 40 organizations, including university departments.

We organized a stand-up session in the flow auditorium building for the first time. We always try to place companies on the same floor, and the new space was perfect for this. The event itself was large-scale, each company prepared an original and interesting self-presentation,— emphasized Svetlana Dovgal.

After April 10, “Career Games” will not end: quizzes, lectures, master classes, resume checks, and many other events from the Career Development Center will be held year-round. So, from April 9 to 18, open lectures will be organized by the Federal Institute of Intellectual Property, where specialists will explain what intellectual property is and how to protect it. The director of the Career Development Center of NGU emphasized that all career events are available to students of any course:

A career usually begins from the first year, so we always welcome first-year students joining our events, participating actively, working as volunteers, and getting acquainted with companies. During their studies, a student can undergo internships and practical training in several organizations, which then forms a clearer idea by graduation about the field in which they want to work and helps them understand where they will go in the future.
