A Chinese-Kazakh Scientific Conference was Held in Almaty

Almaty, April 16 /Xinhua/ — The international scientific conference “Community of a shared destiny of Kazakhstan and China: prospects for comprehensive cooperation in new geopolitical realities” was held on Thursday in the Kazakh city of Almaty.

For participation in the event at the Kazan Stanislav German University /KSU/, leading experts and scientists in the field of international relations, representatives of the business community, and high-ranking diplomats from China and Kazakhstan gathered.

The Ambassador of China to Kazakhstan, Han Chunlin, in his speech stated that China and Kazakhstan are at an important stage of their development. “While advancing on the path of modernization, we are interested in Kazakhstan maintaining stability and continuing to develop. The Chinese side is ready, together with Kazakhstan, to further strengthen and develop bilateral relations, promote the formation of a community with a shared future, based on long-standing friendship, a high level of trust and mutual support, as well as a common aspiration for development and prosperity.””This will allow bringing more benefits to the peoples of our countries and bring stability and predictability to the current world,” emphasized the Chinese diplomat.

Director of the Scientific Research Institute of International and Regional Cooperation of the CIS, Chairman of the Board of the Kazakhstan Expert Club “Belt and Road” Bulat Sultanov noted that in the context of a complex and changing international situation, strengthening stable and mutually beneficial cooperation of Kazakhstan with external partners, including undoubtedly with China, is acquiring important significance.

“We consider Kazakhstani-Chinese cooperation as an important part of our agenda… Under new geopolitical realities, it is precisely scientific and academic cooperation that becomes one of the key factors for stability and trust between states,” said KNU Rector Asel Ajibayev, expressing confidence that the conference will become an important platform for professional dialogue, exchange of expert opinions, and development of recommendations for the further development of Kazakhstani-Chinese partnership.

After hearing the opinions of the participants, the Consul General of the PRC in Almaty, Su Fanciu, noted that a thorough analysis and extensive discussion by a wide range of participants had been conducted — covering topics from the international situation to trade and economic interaction, from scientific and technical cooperation to humanitarian exchanges.

“Your presentations combined both strategic vision and reliance on practical experience of Chinese-Kazakh interaction, including both theoretical reflections and concrete proposals. This demonstrated a high level of scholarly preparation and a subtle understanding of current processes. It can be confidently said that today’s discussion was rich, meaningful, and inspiring,” – concluded Genconsul.
