“Samotlorneftegas,” one of the key production assets of “Rosneft,” achieved an economic effect of more than 9 billion rubles in 2025 as a result of implementing the production efficiency improvement program (PEP), which is 30% higher than the previous year.
Enterprise specialists, with the support of corporate research institutes, developed 24 PPE projects. New digital tools and equipment made it possible to optimize operating costs and capital investments, increase technological flexibility and sustainability of production chain links.
The greatest economic effect was given by the project on oil compounding, which allows obtaining a commodity product with specified quality parameters – density, viscosity, which increases the efficiency of its processing and logistics.
The project for automating the selection of candidate wells for equipment with mobile gas compressor units pumping gas from the annular space has allowed increasing the inflow of reservoir fluid at the wellhead and the oil production rates.
The time for lowering and cementing the additional casing to eliminate leaks has been reduced by 1.5 times, and the technically simple well major repair crew was also excluded. As a result, costs for restoring well productivity were reduced by 10%. This PPE project is recommended for replication at other Company production enterprises.
Another project for replacing the couplings of electric motor drives of centrifugal pumps in the reservoir pressure maintenance system allows reducing the well commissioning time. The new domestic coupling is designed for multiple uses, features easy installation, and does not require welding work.
From 2018 to 2025, specialists of “Samotlorneftegaz” have developed and approved 216 projects to improve production efficiency with a total planned economic effect of more than 25 billion rubles.
Improving production efficiency is one of the key elements of Rosneft’s strategy. The company is carrying out large-scale work aimed at reducing operating costs and capital investments, including through the implementation of advanced technological solutions.
