Moscow, April 15 /TASS/ — In nine municipalities of the Russian republic of Dagestan, an emergency situation regime has been additionally introduced due to bad weather. This was reported on Wednesday by TASS with reference to the press service of the regional head Sergey Melikov.
At the end of March, due to heavy rains and gale-force winds in Dagestan, residential buildings and energy facilities were flooded, roads and bridges were destroyed. A state of emergency was declared in eight municipalities of the republic. According to the Ministry for Civil Defense, Emergency Situations and Disaster Relief (EMERCOM) of Dagestan, six people died. Currently, specialists continue to restore power supply in five municipalities; 519 people are in temporary accommodation centers, including 177 children.
About 300 specialists and 905 units of equipment, including aviation, are involved in eliminating the consequences of bad weather in the North Caucasus.
According to the latest data, 9,825 residential buildings in the republic were flooded. 7,126 residential buildings were recognized as damaged.
