In the 8th studio of the Mosfilm sound stage, sessions were held for the sound dubbing of one of the most anticipated film premieres of the year – the fairy tale “The Last Bogatyr. Kolobok.” Sound director Varvara Belous (in the photo) and sound designer Aleksey Koloditskiy worked on the film for 14 shifts. The movie will be released widely in August of the current year.
An important stage in the creation of one of the most anticipated fairy-tale projects — the feature film “The Last Warrior. Kolobok” — has been completed in the legendary sound studio of “Mosfilm.” For fourteen intense shifts, work was carried out here on sound noises and background effects.
For the viewer, sound effects (or Foley) are invisible, but critically important movie magic. While actors in the studio voice the dialogues, Foley artists use complex props to recreate every step, creaking floorboards, the ringing of coins, the rustling of clothes, and other sound effects. It is precisely this subtle work that makes the “picture” three-dimensional, allowing you to believe that Kolobok truly rolls over the ancient stones of Altai, and that in the forest glade lives its own magical life.
The film “The Last Warrior. Kolobok” (produced by Yellow, Black and White, the online cinema START, and the TV channel “Russia”) is a spin-off and simultaneously a prequel to the beloved franchise about Belogorye. According to the creators, the picture promises to answer questions that have long interested fans of the universe. It turns out to be the story of a charismatic flour hero, whose unchanged voice is once again performed byGarik Kharlamov, where it is broader and more voluminous than a folk tale.
According to the plot, viewers will find out with what insidious purpose he was baked and how the most famous escape of Kolobok was accomplished. The wanderings will lead the hero to a gang of forest robbers, and then – will bring him together with two involuntary partners: the baker Tyson.Dmitry Zhuravlev) and the mysterious beauty Lada (a young actressMila Ershova).
Director’s chair takenAnton Maslov, known from the series “Poet” and the show “Middlebelt Vampires,” which guarantees a special tone for the film—a blend of sparkling comedy and fairy-tale adventure. The script was written by the founding fathers of the “Last Hero” universe:Vitaliy Shlyappo,Vasily KutsenkoиAnatoly Molchanov. The visual world of the fairy tale was embodied by the operatorIgor Kiselevand stage designerAnna Kozlova. The cast also announcedGosha Kutsenko(Wolf),Tatyana Dogileva(Mirror),Kirill Zaitsev(Finist) andDarya Blolina(Athens).
Filming, which began in July 2025, took place in the most picturesque locations — from Lake Teletskoye and the Majoi Canyon in Altai to pavilions in the Moscow region. At “Mosfilm,” the soundtrack acquired a unique texture. The film is being prepared for release on large screens on August 13, 2026.
