Moscow, April 14 /Sina ua/ — The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant /ZNPP/ lost external power supply on Tuesday night as a result of shelling. This was reported by RIA Novosti on Tuesday with reference to the general director of the Russian state corporation “Rosatom” Alexey Likhachev.
“Indeed, that night was not easy, after the Easter truce, shelling resumed, and one of the results of these shellings was the loss of power supply,” noted A. Liyachev. According to him, the external power supply of the ZAEC was completely disconnected for several hours due to the operation of automation on the backup power line “Ferrosplavnaya-1.” The main line “Dneprovskaya” has been off since March 24.
“The ‘persona’ automatically and brilliantly activated, connecting the station to power from mobile sources, from standby diesel generators,” reported the head of ‘Rosatoma.’
A. Lichachev clarified that this is the 14th absolute loss of the external power supply station. One of these periods lasted more than a month, which is a world record. –0–
