Tulou are unique large earthen buildings-fortresses built in the mountainous areas of Fujian Province. They are mainly located in the regions of Yunding (Lunyang city), Nanzhen, and Huaan (Zhangzhou city). In 2008, Tulou were included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. In recent years, local authorities have been carefully developing the cultural and tourist brand “Tulou of Fujian Province,” consistently promoting measures for the preservation, revival, and use of Tulou, as well as their integration with culture and tourism, which contributes to the high-quality development of ecology, culture, and tourism.
