International cooperation is an important part of the educational process at the Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering. Exchanges, internships, and joint projects allow students not only to gain new knowledge but also to become familiar with the architectural traditions of other countries.
Impressions from the visit to Tashkent and the Tashkent Architectural and Construction University (TASU) were shared by students of the architectural faculty of SPBGASU Antonina Goryushova, Aleksandra Chupakova, Alina Demidova, and Tatyana Muracheva.
The first impression of the city was especially vivid: the capital of Uzbekistan turned out to be very sunny, green, and cozy, creating a comfortable and inspiring atmosphere for studying and living.
Special attention is paid to the organization of the university environment: for example, the students noted that the dormitory is located on the campus territory, which makes the educational process more comfortable, and student life more fulfilling.
We really liked the green courtyards with gazebos, where students usually relax during breaks: this helps with the emotional switch between classes. In addition, the girls paid attention to the landscaping of the campus, noted the thoughtful design of the space for organizing the educational process, and appreciated the hospitality of the hosting side.
An important part of the trip was getting acquainted with the international activities of the university. TASU actively cooperates with foreign partners, participates in exchange programs, organizes internships both for students and for teachers, in particular, in cooperation with SPbGASU.
In my opinion, students’ participation in an exchange program provides unique opportunities to become acquainted with the culture, history, and architecture of other countries, to learn about new approaches to professional activities, including studying the features of architectural and construction solutions in different climatic conditions and when using various building materials.
Such trips become an important educational experience and a source of professional inspiration, expanding future specialists’ understanding of modern architecture and construction.
