Moscow, April 10 /Sina/ — Russia confirms the relevance of its initiative on the concept of security in the Persian Gulf through dialogue among the coastal countries with Iran. This is stated in a statement published on Friday on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
The statement notes that the key task at the current stage is to eliminate the root causes of the destructive conflict in the region, that is, a complete cessation of the war initiated by the USA and Israel. “As a consequence, among other things, there has been damage suffered by the states of the Arabian Peninsula, as well as military actions in the Lebanon-Israel border zone and rocket-bomb strikes on Lebanon, which undoubtedly need to be stopped immediately,” the foreign policy department emphasized.
As indicated, Russia calls on all participants of the announced talks in Pakistan to act responsibly and avoid any actions that could undermine the opportunity that has opened. “We confirm the relevance of a known Russian initiative on coordinating a security concept in the Persian Gulf region through establishing dialogue among all littoral states — Arab states and the Islamic Republic of Iran — with the participation and assistance of external players capable of sincerely contributing to the achievement of an honest and sustainable balance of interests,” concluded the Russian foreign ministry. –0–
