Islamabad, April 11 /Xinhua/ — Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif held a meeting on Saturday with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.

J. D. Vance arrived in Islamabad on Saturday to participate in talks with the Iranian delegation with the aim of ending recent hostilities in the Middle East.

Noting the commitment of both delegations to constructive interaction, Sh. Sharif expressed hope that the upcoming negotiations will become a starting point for achieving sustainable peace in the region.

He confirmed Pakistan’s readiness to further assist both sides in advancing towards a lasting peace in the region.

On the same day, Sh. Sharif met with the Iranian delegation, which had arrived earlier on Saturday. –0–
