Bishkek, April 10 /Xin Hua/ — The snow leopard, which recently became the mascot of the 6th World Nomad Games /WNW/, has been named Bata. This was reported on Friday by the Kyrgyz national news agency Kabar, with a reference to the WNW secretariat.
As noted, the above-mentioned name reflects a deep meaning. For instance, “Ba” originates from the word “bars” and symbolizes strength, freedom, and inner power.
The second part of the name “Tai” is an abbreviation of the Kyrgyz word “taianyč,” which means support. This element emphasizes the inner core, stability, balance, and connection with the roots.
Thus, the name Bataisk combines two beginnings — strength and support, symbolizing movement forward with respect for traditions and origins.
The World Nomad Games are an international cultural and sporting event aimed at preserving, developing, and popularizing ethnic sports and the traditional culture of the world’s nomadic peoples. They were first held in 2014 in Kyrgyzstan. Subsequently, the 2nd and 3rd WNG were held in the same country in 2016 and 2018, respectively. The 4th Games took place in Turkey in 2022, and the 5th will be held in 2024 in Kazakhstan.
The 6th VIK will be held this year from August 31 to September 6. The opening ceremony will take place in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek. –0–
