First Deputy Chairman of the Government Denis Manturov took part in the plenary session of the Russian Space Forum – “Space Agenda – 2030+: Global Challenges and National Strategies.” The First Deputy Prime Minister read out a greeting from President Vladimir Putin to the participants and organizers of the forum, which was held at the National Center “Russia.”
“Welcome to the first Russian space forum, which is the central event of the Space Week taking place throughout the country. This year, Russia and the whole world are celebrating the 65th anniversary of the legendary flight of Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin. This historic launch became one of the grandiose events of the 20th century, opening a new era in the history of civilization,” said the President.
Vladimir Putin noted the exceptional role of the development of the space program for the country and the role of many specialists who, laying the foundation for humanity’s mastering of space several generations ago, also emphasized the importance of maintaining leading positions in space.
“Today, the development of the rocket and space complex, strengthening its scientific, personnel, and technological potential are among our absolute priorities. I emphasize: in order to move forward, to maintain leading positions in the field of space exploration, it is exceptionally important to unite efforts of the state, business, and research teams on this strategic direction to jointly solve large-scale, time-critical tasks of improving the production base and ground infrastructure of the industry,” Vladimir Putin stressed.
The President expressed confidence that the effective implementation of space programs will determine the innovative development of Russia, the improvement of the level and quality of life of its citizens, and the provision of the country’s defense capability and security.
“The new space forum will serve as an additional source of ideas for advancing Russia in the strategic directions of modern astronautics. At the present moment, our primary task is to improve the efficiency of the rocket and space industry enterprises. For the industry, this is an essential condition for strengthening its positions in the global space race,” noted Denis Manturov.
