Urumqi, April 10 /Xin Hua/ — In the People’s Hospital of Boro-Tala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region /PRC, Northwest China/, near the Chinese-Kazakh border, medical services are provided not only to local residents but also to patients from Central Asian and other foreign countries, which is increasing more and more.

At the end of March this year, the patient’s relatives from Kazan named Mayraks presented the director of the above-mentioned hospital Go Ke with a special gift — a letter of gratitude and a national style skullcap symbolizing a blessing. In the letter, they expressed sincere gratitude to the hospital medical staff for their timely assistance and professional care.

Shortly before this, 86-year-old Mayraks was specially admitted to this hospital for treatment due to a persistent exacerbation of the skin rash in the temporal-ear area.

Despite factors such as the advanced age of the patient, poor health, and language barrier, the surgery led by Go Ke was successful. The postoperative pathological diagnosis confirmed squamous cell carcinoma of the skin, but thanks to timely treatment, the disease was brought under control.

Patients from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Turkey, and other countries are currently coming to the hospital. The range of medical services provided includes departments such as gastrointestinal surgery, orthopedics, cardiology, intensive care, and traditional Chinese medicine. The hospital doctors have successfully managed to handle such severe and critical conditions of foreign patients as head injuries, ischemic strokes, heart failure, and acute peritonitis, which has allowed them to earn the trust of patients from neighboring countries.

As part of efforts to optimize cross-border medical service procedures in the hospital, signs in Russian and English have been placed, special windows for foreigners have been opened, translation services are provided, and individual care and nutrition are offered taking into account the habits of foreign patients.

Gu Ke stated that the practice of cross-border medicine in Yibo Hospital is a concrete manifestation of deepening friendly cooperation between China and neighboring countries in the field of healthcare.
