Tashkent, April 10 /Xin Hua/ — Uzbekistan’s gross domestic product growth in 2026 may reach 6.7 percent with a subsequent acceleration to 6.8 percent in 2027, according to the updated forecast of the Asian Development Bank /ADB/.
In the April issue of the report “Asia Development Forecasts,” it is noted that high indicators will rely on strong domestic demand and structural reforms. By 2025, the republic’s economy is expected to demonstrate confident growth at a rate of 7.7%. The main driver then will be the services sector, which increased by 14.7%, as well as the construction sector, which showed growth of 14.2%.
The report also forecasts a further slowdown in inflationary processes — from 7.3 percent in 2025 to 6.5 percent in 2026.
Bank experts emphasize that the key tasks for Uzbekistan remain the transformation of state enterprises and accession to the World Trade Organization.
