Dushanbe, April 6 /Xinua/ — Tajikistan and the USA signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of healthcare for a period of five years on Monday. This was reported by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan.
The document was signed in Dushanbe following a meeting between the Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan Dzhamoliddin Abdullozoda and the Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Tajikistan Carson Relitz Roker. As clarified by the Ministry of Health, the total volume of joint investments by 2030 will amount to about 78 million US dollars.
The department noted that the agreement consolidates the parties’ joint commitment to supporting Tajikistan’s national priorities in the field of healthcare, including prevention and treatment of HIV and tuberculosis. In addition, the document is aimed at strengthening global security in the healthcare sector by improving the system for detection of infectious diseases and response to them.
