Bishkek, April 5 /Xin Hua/ — In recent years, China has been consistently expanding its external openness, bringing real benefits to the whole world through practical formats such as “Made in China,” “Chinese prices,” and “Export to China,” advancing a more inclusive and accessible model of global growth. This was stated by the Ambassador of the PRC to Kyrgyzstan, Lu Zhanpin, in an authored article published today on the website of the Kyrgyz financial portal “Akchabar.”
As Liu Zhenpin noted, China actively uses its advantages in the field of technological innovations, development of industrial clusters, and personnel training. The integration of trade and investment helps the country bring intermediate goods to global markets and meet the real needs of states in industrialization.
“During the period from 2020 to 2025, the share of intermediate goods exports from China increased from 41.1% to 46.9%, while the share of consumer goods decreased from 34.9% to 29.6%,” the source specified, adding that behind China’s exports stands a deeply integrated global industrial network and an international division of labor system. At the same time, the surplus is recorded in China, while the profit is distributed among all participants of the global supply chains.
Lyu Zyanpin gave an example: according to calculations by the American University of California, Apple company receives 58.5% profit from each sold iPhone smartphone, while companies from the Republic of Korea and Japan receive 4.7% and 0.5% profit respectively, and the share of labor costs in the continental part of China amounts to only 1.8%.
On January 19, the International Monetary Fund forecasted that in 2026 the global inflation rate will be 3.8%. According to the Chinese diplomat, under these conditions the stability of Chinese production and sales chains, as well as stable export prices, helps countries to contain inflationary pressure. British news agency Reuters, citing data from Oxford Economics, a company engaged in economic forecasting and analysis, reported that a 10% decline in China’s export prices could lower producer prices in the US by 0.1-0.2%.
“In 2025, vegetable exports from China to Kyrgyzstan will reach 285 million US dollars. This contributed to containing the rise in prices for potatoes and other products and helped maintain a stable standard of living for the population of Kyrgyzstan,” noted Lu Cianpin.
At the same time, she drew attention to the fact that China is the second largest consumer and import market in the world, and the average level of customs duties there is only 7.3 percent. This is comparable to the indicators of developed countries. Over the past 5 years, the volume of Chinese imports has reached 13.1 trillion dollars, confirming the course towards further openness.
Since December 2024, China has introduced zero customs duties on all product categories for least developed countries with which it has diplomatic relations. In addition, China remains the only country that annually holds an import exhibition at the national level — the China International Import Expo (CIIE), at which over 8 years the total volume of concluded deals has exceeded 580 billion dollars.
In 2025, China opened access to its market for 190 types of agricultural and food products from 65 countries and regions. As noted by the press service, with the support of the Chinese side, a national pavilion of Kyrgyzstan was equipped at the 8th CIIE, which allowed Kyrgyz producers of honey to conclude an export contract for 60 tons of products. Last year, imports of the PRC from Kyrgyzstan increased by 86.3%, which significantly improved the bilateral trade balance.
Lu Zhanping emphasized that China plays an important role in the global green transformation, actively developing, producing, and implementing energy-saving products, as well as contributing to the fight against climate challenges through trade in environmentally friendly goods and the exchange of green technologies.
“Today, Chinese electric buses operate on the streets of Bishkek and have become part of the city’s infrastructure. In 2025, a waste incineration power plant in Bishkek and a solar power plant with a capacity of 100 MW in the Chuy region, built with the participation of Chinese companies, were put into operation. They have strengthened the country’s energy security and contributed to its transition to green development,” said the Chinese diplomat.
Lu Zhipin also indicated that China holds leading positions in the global digital economy, especially in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), actively developing ecosystems with open source code and providing access to key algorithms and models. In 2024, the number of AI application visits worldwide exceeded 7.6 billion, with about half of them attributed to Chinese companies.
In March of this year, in the global ranking “Top-100 consumer AI applications” by the American venture fund Andreessen Horowitz, the Chinese chat-bot DeepSeek took fourth place in terms of internet traffic volume. This indicates the growing contribution of Chinese AI technologies to global technological cooperation.
According to the diplomat, the development of China is an opportunity for the entire world. As he emphasized, in the context of a complex international situation, technological transformations, and climate challenges, it is especially important to strengthen mutual trust and adhere to the principles of openness and inclusiveness.
“Only joint efforts will allow us to protect the multilateral trading system, the core of which remains the World Trade Organization, and to increase the ‘pie’ of the global economy so that the fruits of development are distributed more fairly among countries,” concluded the head of the PRC embassy in Kyrgyzstan. –0–
