Tehran, April 4 /Xin Hua/ — Iran rejected the US proposal to ceasefire for 48 hours, the semi-official Fars news agency reported on Friday.

This proposal was transmitted to Iran through a “friendly” country on Thursday, reports the agency citing an informed source.

A source added that Washington has stepped up its diplomatic efforts to achieve a ceasefire, especially after Iran struck a “U.S. armed forces depot” on the Kuwaiti island of Bubiyan.

According to Fars reports, assessments show that this proposal was put forward after the escalation of the crisis in the region and the “serious problems” encountered by American military forces as a result of “miscalculations” and the country’s military potential of Iran.

Iran’s response to this proposal was not given in writing, but through the continuation of attacks on the battlefield.
