Al-Kuwait, April 3 /Xin Hua/ — Kuwait Petroleum Corporation reported on Friday that early in the morning a drone attacked the Mina Al-Ahmadi oil refinery, causing fires in several production units.
In the statement published by the Kuwaiti news agency, the corporation confirmed that emergency and firefighting teams were immediately dispatched to contain the fire.
No reports of casualties were received, precautionary measures were taken to ensure the safety of personnel and the protection of facilities, according to the statement.
Last month, this oil refinery was subjected to similar drone attacks, which also caused fires in some units but did not result in any human casualties.
The incidents occurred against the backdrop of escalating tensions in the region following joint American-Israeli strikes on Iran that began on February 28, to which Iran responded with a series of missile and drone strikes on Israel and neighboring countries of the Persian Gulf, where US military facilities are located. –0–
