Moscow, April 1 /TASS/ — For the first time in clinical practice in Russia, a personalized anti-tumor MRN vaccine “Neooncovac” was used. This was reported to TASS on Wednesday with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
The first patient was a 60-year-old resident of the Kursk region with skin melanoma. He is undergoing immunotherapy, but despite the ongoing treatment, there remains a high risk of further disease progression. In this situation, the use of a personalized mRNA vaccine is considered as a means to control the disease.
As the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko stated on Wednesday, the work on including personalized oncology vaccines in the state program of guarantees for free medical care provision in Russia is at the final stage.
